We advise, counsel and represent private companies, Federal employees and contractors before the Department of Defense (DOD) and the Defense Office of Hearing and Appeals (DOHA) in security clearance litigation and background investigation matters.
The Firm is very proud of its public safety employment practice area, specializing in the legal representation of Law Enforcement Officers (LEO), Firefighters (FF) and other first responders. The Firm takes great pride in representing these two honored professions, and frequently assists public safety employees ranging from executive level supervisors to probationary employees just entering the profession. The Firm represents these employees in Internal Affairs investigations, trial board defense, disciplinary action defense, civil action defense, criminal defense, LEO and FF 20-year retirement issues and disability retirement applications.
The Firm has served as General Counsel to unions, corporations and non-profit entities. We have advised these organizations on wage and hour matters (overtime compliance concerns), labor negotiations, compliance with local employment regulations, human resources policies and other related matters. The Firm frequently represents Federal sector unions, supervisors and employees before the Federal Labor Relations Authority (FLRA) and the Federal Service Impasses Panel (FSIP) as well as employers, unions and private employees before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). For unions and employers, the Firm represents both types of clients effectively in labor negotiations, collective bargaining, grievance preparation, arbitration and litigation. The Firm also represents employees and employers before the Department of Labor (DOL) in wage and hour investigations and determinations.
The Firm’s Office of Personnel Management (OPM) practice area specializes in assisting Federal employees in Disability Retirement, FERS, CSRS, FERCCA (retirement errors) and other Federal retirement matters. Moreover, t he Firm’s OPM practice area also includes representation and advice in matters involving background investigations, position classification matters (desk audits) and debarment proceedings.
