Attorney Profiles: Jonathan A. Gowen

Overview

Mr. Gowen is an associate attorney with the Firm and represents federal and state employees, law enforcement officers, private employees and labor unions in a number of employment and labor law matters. In addition, Mr. Gowen devotes a high percentage of his practice to representing federal employees in arbitration matters before the Merit Systems Protection Board. Mr. Gowen also advises and represents individuals needing legal assistance in other federal administrative agency areas.

Mr. Gowen graduated from Loyola College of Maryland with a Bachelors of Science degree in Political Science. While at Loyola, Mr. Gowen spent a semester in London, England studying British Government under the supervision of Member of Parliament, John Henry Hayes. Mr. Gowen graduated from the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University where he was a recipient of the Faculty Merit Scholarship Award.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Gowen was an associate at a civil defense firm in Philadelphia where he litigated employment discrimination, toxic tort and professional liability cases. Mr. Gowen is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the State of New Jersey and has filed an application, which is pending, for admission to the District of Columbia Bar. In the interim, Mr. Gowen is practicing law in the District of Columbia under the supervision of John V. Berry, Esq.
